What is an Exam Voucher?
A CompTIA exam voucher is a unique code that will enable you to take your exam at an authorized CompTia Test Service Provider. Exam vouchers are used similar to a gift card. For example, employers often use vouchers to pay for their employees’ exam or parents may purchase vouchers for their children.
Exam Voucher Details
- Vouchers are non-refundable and non-returnable.
- One voucher is applicable towards one exam at an authorized CompTIA Test Service Provider.
- All vouchers, including any retakes, are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise noted.
- You must register and take your exam prior to the voucher expiration date.
- Voucher expiration dates cannot be extended under any circumstances.
- Certification exam retirement dates supersede voucher expiration dates. CompTIA may retire certifications and corresponding exams prior to voucher expiration dates.
- Visit the CompTIA website for certificationexam information, including exam launch and retirement dates.
- Vouchers are country and currency restricted.
- CompTIA and the participating test providers are not responsible for lost or stolen vouchers.
- Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash or credit.
- CompTIA vouchers may not be resold.
Exam Retake Details
- For voucher purchases that include a retake, if you fail the exam on your first attempt use the same voucher to register and retake the exam.
- All vouchers, including any retakes, expire 12 months from the date of purchase, unless otherwise noted.
- The retake is only valid for the same exam version that you failed. You cannot use the retake for a different version of the exam.

- Order information will be emailed within 3 - 4 hours from purchase.
- You will receive two emails. The first email will be your order confirmation and the second email will include your exam voucher, the voucher expiration date and voucher terms and conditions. Check your spam, junk and promotional folders.

Live Online Training Computer Requirements
- Internet access with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speeds. 20 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload speed or higher are recommended.
- Headphones, microphone and webcam compatible with your chosen computer.
Accessing Your Live Online Training Session
All CompTIA Live Online Training courses are now presented on our learning platform Canvas. This resource makes all of your learning materials, including CertMaster Learn+Labs and CertMaster Practice, as well as the Zoom classroom link and course recordings available in one convenient location. Students will be sent an invitation via email the Thursday prior to the start of the live session.
CompTIA is unable to provide training to students in the states of WI, VA, ND and NM, due to licensure regulations. We can offer other training solutions to residents of these states, please visit FAQ page to inquire about options.
Grievance Policy for CompTIA Live Online Training (LOT) Programs
Purpose:
To establish a fair and transparent process for raising, addressing, and resolving grievances raised by students enrolled in CompTIA’s Live Online Training (LOT) programs (“CompTIA LOT Programs”) in a timely and appropriate manner.
Scope:
This policy applies to all students enrolled in CompTIA LOT Programs.
Definitions:
Grievance: A formal expression of dissatisfaction or complaint regarding any aspect of CompTIA LOT Programs, including but not limited to course content, instructor performance, facilities, or administrative processes.
Process:
- All grievances must be submitted in writing to the CompTIA Compliance Department at [email protected] within 30 days of the incident or issue that led to the grievance.
- CompTIA’s Compliance Department will acknowledge receipt of the grievance within five (5) business days and will initiate an investigation into the matter.
- The Compliance Department will perform a fact investigation based on the grievance, which may include gathering relevant information and documentation, including statements from the student, the instructor, and any other relevant parties.
- The Compliance Department will review the information and make a determination on the grievance within 30 days of receipt of the grievance. The Compliance Department will communicate such determination and any proposed resolution to the student in writing. If additional time is needed to make and/or communicate this determination, the Compliance Department will notify the student in writing.
- If the student is not satisfied with CompTIA’s initial determination, the student may appeal within 15 days of receiving the determination. An appeal must be made in writing, to [email protected].
- If applicable, within 30 days of receiving the appeal, CompTIA shall make a final and binding decision regarding the grievance, after taking into consideration the original grievance, all available facts, and any supplemental materials provided by the student in the appeal.
Confidentiality:
All information related to a grievance will be treated as confidential and will only be shared with those individuals directly involved in the grievance process. CompTIA will take all reasonable steps to protect the privacy of the student and any other individual(s) involved in the grievance process.
Non-Retaliation:
CompTIA prohibits retaliation against any student for filing a grievance or participating in the grievance process. Any student who believes they have been subjected to retaliation should contact [email protected] immediately.

Illinois Complaint Procedure
If the complaint cannot be resolved after exhausting the institution’s grievance procedure, the student may file a complaint with the Illinois Board of Higher Education, Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools. Student complaints must be submitted in writing to the Board (Section 85(i)(1) of the Act). Information about the complaint may be submitted online through the IBHE website (www.ibhe.org).
